Families,
The end of term is fast approaching and there are several new items to put on the Calendar, as well as some reminders.
This Friday (17/3) is Ride to School Day. The idea is that we ride to school on bikes, or anything with wheels. Walking is also encouraged. If you do have to take the car, I hear if you walk the last 300 metres it will be considered a walk!!
Prep Parent Reading and Writing Information night will be held on 29th March at 7:30pm. A note will be coming home soon with details. School Photos will be taken on 28/3/17. Be beautiful and be on time!
Jo the Library teacher is requesting that all children bring a library bag as some books are coming back quite bedraggled.
By now all grades have a Class Rep. Check with your teacher to find out who it is. You may want to send information this way.
At the end of term there are some dates to remember.
- On the last Friday (31/3) we finish at 2:30pm
- On this last day (31/3) there is a Family Picnic on the oval from 5:30 -7pm. This is to say good-bye to Louise so let everybody know!
- Louise’s last Assembly will be on the last Monday (27/3). Afterwards there will be tea and coffee in the Library.
- On the last Thursday (30/3) there will be a whole school Engagement and Well-Being event. More to follow!
Keep posted on the DLJ for any more updates.
Dear Families,
This term our inquiry unit is called ‘Let The Games Begin’ and we will be focusing on the skills needed to play fairly and work cooperatively in groups.
Starting next week (week 6), the maths topic we will be focusing on is Place Value. Talk to your child about the numbers you see in the environment and discuss what they know about these numbers.
As of this Friday (3rd March), the prep students will be attending school every day and we look forward to continuing their learning in the classroom.
Next Monday 6th March is Clean Up Australia Day – each class will be participating in some related activities.
Monday 13th March is Labour Day, so please do not send your child to school on this day.
Also, school photos will be held on Tuesday 28th March.
Please remember to send hats and rubbish free lunches every day.
Students must bring a library bag to their library session if they would like to borrow a book to take home.
